This role will direct, lead, and develop the execution and performance of the direct and indirect EIMEA Supply Chain Planning and Operations functions to meet business objectives in support of the EIMEA Supply Chain strategy over a 3-4 year planning horizon


Providing leadership of key upstream and downstream supply chain activities, delivering bottom line improvements and improved customer experience through strong supply chain processes and relationships, and development of high performing teams and supply chain talent.


This is a key role in the EIMEA Supply Chain Leadership team and works closely with wider WD-40 teams and stakeholders in the development of operations and supply chain strategies and goal/metrics definition.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Supply Chain Architecture, Planning, Process and Execution

  • Contributes to the strategic design of the Supply Chain architecture.  
  • Lead, implement execute the supply chain functions productivity programs to deliver on the strategic design and improve the efficiencies of the organization.
  • Continually evaluate and establish improvements to Supply Chain processes, programs, and architecture with the aim of increasing Supply Chain effectiveness, EBITDA, asset utilization and service delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Leads the development of the strategic supply chain direction and planning. Develops and executes strategies, plans and tactics to work towards the development and improvement of the extended supply chain and towards meeting objectives including quality, service, cost and commercial performance.
  • Leads the development and implementation of key operating metrics to report alignment of performance to the company’s strategic and financial goals. Define metrics, develop periodic reports and utilize them to lead continuous process improvement within the organization. Leads the team to meet or exceed budget and defined metrics, including ensuring agreed volume targets are achieved. Set performance metrics, measure and provide feedback as needed to achieve desired results and improve service levels to our internal and external customers. Proactively identify, establish and execute corrective action plans when cost of performance is at risk to ensure delivery of agreed product.

2. Supply Chain Planning

  • Oversees the Supply Chain Planning function in the development of well-informed forecasts, effective supply and production plans, and inventory planning and control practices. Working with the Supply Chain Planning team, develops continuous improvement roadmaps for the following essential functions of Supply Chain Planning: Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Production Planning, S&OP, Business Planning/Long Range Planning.
  • Leads engagement with Commercial teams in developing the most robust forecasts that reflect the latest market intelligence and commercial plans.
  • Drives alignment between commercial, operational and financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities in bridging gaps between these various plans as well as optimizing commercial and operational opportunities to help achieve stretch goals.             

3. Customer Service

  • Oversees the Supply Chain Operation functions to ensure customer service objectives are met or exceeded, while meeting both inventory and cost constraints. Identifies, develops and implements processes and tools that increase the effectiveness of the Customer Logistics & Fulfilment team.

4. Warehousing & Logistics

  • Partners with branches to drive cost avoidance/reduction initiatives within warehousing & logistics, this could include warehousing process and policies, logistics routes, freight costs, external warehousing, cost of import / export.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to identify opportunities to gain cost efficiencies and service level improvements through supplier negotiations, warehouse and logistics network reviews, and analysis of market pricing.
  • Works with regional branch teams to develop warehousing & logistics continuous improvement roadmaps, creating a center of excellence framework for EIMEA wide operational excellence in warehousing and logistics.
  • Works with cross functional leaders to develop a long term warehousing & logistics strategy, and leading the development of an optimal DC & logistics network built to service the EIMEA business of the long-term future. 

5. Supplier Management

  • Collaborates cross functionally in the establishment, optimisation and maintenance of key supplier relationships.
  • Identify and implement new supplier relationship strategies. 
  • Ensure business negotiations result in agreements that can be successfully sustained long term by all parties in partnership with the Sourcing and Quality managers.   

6. Digital Supply Chain Transformation

  • Lead end-to-end strategy to implementation of supply chain digital and analytics capabilities for SC Planning & Ops, including the following key priority focuses; Planning software, ERP, TMS & WMS, Master Data Process development, Supplier Integration, Machine learning and A.I.
  • Lead engagement between Supply Chain Planning & Operations and our IT & Business Services teams to develop automation and continuous improvement of current processes and activities through improved technology use.
  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, the supply chain ecosystem and broader marketplace 

7.       Leadership

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated supply chain experience in planning, warehousing and logistics, materials management and planning, customer service, supplier relationship management and commercial & financial analysis.
  • multi-country planning and logistics experience.
  • Operations and/or Supply Chain leadership/management experience of similar functions.
  • Experience developing and managing a collaborative forecast and/or analysis of warehouse and sales trends, events, and seasonality.
  • Experience with supply chain sourcing of chemicals, plastics, corrugate, tin plate, etc.
  • Experience leading sourcing in an outsourced manufacturing structure
  • Experience of successfully leading a team
  • Experience developing a large team and an extended supply chain, ideally with outsourced manufacturing operations
