The sourcing analyst will be responsible for supporting EIMEA sourcing initiatives through research, analysis, modeling of raw materials/components/finished goods and QMS support for both new product initiatives and existing SKU’s to achieve COGS targets, EBITDA and strategic sourcing goals.

Responsibilities

Sourcing

 

Strategy:

  • Performs market research/provides market intelligence (key player financial health, cost/demand/supply drivers, price forecasting)
  • Independently researches, collects data, and creates customary cost models (cost models/TCO models).  Analyzes and presents recommendation to support sourcing manager in the development of category strategies. 
  • Presents insights, summaries and recommendations to Senior leaders, in support of Sourcing leadership

Source:

  • Research and identify alternate sources of supply to ensure supplier innovation concepts are captured for business evaluation
  • Responsible for sourcing new products or services to achieve the team’s goals and objectives as it relates to cost, quality and service.
  • Review capabilities of potential new sources of supply within predefined criteria in partnership with the Sourcing Manager.
  • Initiates and solicits requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotation (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs) for sourcing of materials and services related to COGS.
  • Provides detailed analysis of submitted quotes coupled with recommendations to Sourcing Manager and Sourcing Director.
  • Assists team in detailed financial analysis of supplier quotations, financial reports
  • Actively participates in negotiations by presenting data to suppliers that will ensure fair and reasonable pricing
  • Develops and provides cost estimates and material support used in determining SKU profitability on new SKU initiatives.
  • Works directly with marketing team to provide guidance on promotional decisions and cost implications

Manage:

  • Provides analysis on price change justification and validation prior to cost approvals.
  • Identifies strategic cost reduction activities to positively impact corporate EBITDA goals.
  • Develops and manages cost models for products and contract packagers, including templates and procedures for indirect sourcing.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date pricing files for fill fees, raw materials and packaging components
  • Performs detailed financial analysis of supplier quotations, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonableness of prices and/or price changes.
  • Ability to negotiate equitable outcome for WD-40 Company. Assists Supply Chain (Materials/Operations) team in resolution of performance issues and fulfillment of obligations to ensure they are providing and improving the agreed upon value to support organizational objectives and EBITDA.
  • Works cross functionally with Marketing, QA, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance Support to support in the development of new product, promotional materials and packaging development
  • Ability to perform key dispute resolution in a timely manner to minimize any/all impact to WD-40 Company Business
  • Establish strong professional and interpersonal relations with key stakeholder at all levels within WD-40 Company and external partners.

 

Document Control

  • Responsible for filing, storing, protecting, arranging, indexing, classifying and retrieving documents and records for all Secondary Packaging documents contained in corporate QMS data base.
  • Responsible for maintaining, uploading, updating, and attaching documents into QMS database including Bill of Material maintenance as it relates to sourcing documents.
  • Coordinates the routing, review, approval, distribution and audit of secondary packaging documents. Follows up on review cycle and approval routing. Updates revision changes and release documents as approved.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Sourcing experience including RFI/RFP/RFQ process of raw materials, negotiation, execution, legal contract management and communication of deliverables.
  • Experience within the FMCG industry is desirable. Or an understanding of the industry.
  • Demonstrated organisational, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills with an emphasis on coordinating conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Prioritises and plans work activities, organizes personal and project timelines, track project timelines and deadline.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced-level Excel skills
  • Stakeholder engagement and management skills
